Although I love the tint and the clarity of these sunglasses, I'm not particularly pleased with my purchase for several reasons.

1. The framework and screws around the nose piece is distracting to my vision.

2. This style of frame puts too much pressure on the side of my head, making them uncomfortable to wear for any length of time. I'm refering to about 30 minutes or more. Not particularly well suited if you're traveling any distance or you plan on being outside all day.

The Banyans fit individuals with a medium to larger face. Despite the larger size, they are still very light weight, like all MJ Sports. It's dual polarization system and complete wrap around coverage greatly assist vision. Lastly, it has perforation holes on the top of the frame that cut the annoying fogging of the lens.

I would not change anything about this glass except to add another color option. I really like the how the Hookipa is produced with a black frame and a bronze lens. Golfers, like myself, could even really appreciate a black frame with the rose lens option. I am confident that would sell well in the Banyan style.

Simply and in short the best sun glasses i have ever had,
i feel very comfortable wearing them all the time and the best thing,
the color of things has changer ;-).

I was VERY disappointed when one of the lenses on my old MJs wore out around the screw and broke off as I am going to Costa Rica on my honeymoon in a week. My broken MJs were 6 years old and I wore them every day (rain or shine) at work (I worked as a grass tech. on a golf course and wear them snowshoeing and biking). I walked in and bought these as a replacement for my honeymoon. Yes, I agree, that at first the nose piece is noticeable but honestly, after a few minutes you forget it is there. The lenses are perfect. I just love them so much! I wear them for driving, work, casual outings and for sports. Basically, I rarely take them off and the only time I don't have them near me is when I am in the house.

These sunglasses are AMAZING! They are so light that it feels like I'm not wearing them. That kind of comfort is perfect for sports and for long days outside. And lest we forget the way the lenses make colours look more brilliant! I couldn't imagine my life without MJ sunglasses!

P.S. I fully intend on replacing the lenses in my 6 year old pair once I get some cash.

I had these Maui Jim's for about 2 months. I never really got used to the "impaired" vision from the nose piece. Although I was extremely careful with these sunglasses, that is, I always put them in their protective case when not in use, somehow the lens broke in the left corner where the frames attached to the sunglasses. I understand this is NOT covered by warranty. Since I didn't care for the "impaired" vision, I see no reason to have them repaired. As such, Maui Jim's will no longer be on my short list of valued sunglasses.

I am so impressed with the fit of these sunglasses and will only recommend them to everyone. I don't even notice the bridge when looking out of them so I may have a broader nose bridge, but I can not tell you how pleased I am with the optics. The best on the market!

very nice sunglasses but, like others, my eyes keep getting distracted to the nose bridge screws. I simply can not wear them. I bought them at bass pro and they have a no return policy so I am stuck with them. great quality glasses, just too distracting for me.

I was in Kapalua last week and missing my MJ's I had lost last year, so while at the dive shop on the beach we picked up the new Banyans and absolutely love them. The are very comfortable as the last pairs were. I have another pair on my holiday list.

I had Lasik eye surgery in the Fall of 1999, and am light sensitive. After searching for the perfect pair of polarized sunglasses, I finally found and fell in love with these MJ's. I have NEVER in my life paid more than $30 for a pair of sunglasses, so paying almost $200 for one pair was unreal to me. I am now a believer! I have had these sunglasses for over 6 months now, and have not had a single headache! These will be the only sunglasses I will ever wear!
