Maui Rose®: For everyday variable conditions, from full sun to overcast. The highest contrast available – excellent for fast moving sports. Provides a subtle rose tint.

Maui HT™: High-Transmission for times when most lenses would be too dark — sharper contrast and more vibrant color for early morning, late afternoon and foggy days. Heightens contrast and depth of field so that low light is perceived with new vibrancy.

PolarizedPlus®2: In every pair of Maui Jims you’ll find our patented, color-infused lens technology that wipes out 99.9% of glare, 100% of harmful UV and boosts color via specially designed lens treatments. So your view is clearer, with crisper contrast and amazing brilliance.

Move the Nose bridge !!
Review by: Pichopop

Awesome sunglasses but one problem. My eyes keep focusing on the nose bridge. Do you remember the movie the jerk! How annoying !!!

best sunglasses
Review by: zook

Not only did I purchase one pair of the "Banyan" style sunglasses in black last week, I went back today and bought a second pair in a different color. I think that says it all.

Another Maui Jim Favorite
Review by: TiredEyes

I am a tried and true Maui Jim Volcano sorta-guy. Own four pairwhich says a bunch. Forgot my goggles when on a Florida vacation. Needed eye shades really bad. Went to a local vendor and was recommended the Banyans...really did not need more sunglasses, but had to have something. Banyans went on and I experienced the famous Maui Jim "Awhhhhh" from my eyes. Slipped them on and my eyes immediately relaxed. Spent the $$$ and bought them versus a $20 pair of knock-offs. Yes, a bit to spend for just three days, but so worth it.

Maui Jim quality, Maui Jim style, and the best glasses around. Volcanoes now have a rival for us larged-headed folk. Well done Maui Jim.

Banyans HT412-02
Review by: romeaspen

The Banyans are great fit. The clarity is excellent with the green lens. I own several Maui Jim sunglasses and this are by far my favorite.

Great design - what's up with the bridge?
Review by: Bigwaves

Finally someone built a glass for a large face with excellent wrap around. The show stopper is the bridge - which extends into your view and you start focusing on it. I feel like i am in the movie the jerk.

Great Sun Glasses
Review by: HDRider

I have several pairs of Mauijim SGs. They are the best I've ever used. I ride and play golf...they are a great fit and easy on the face.

not satisfied
Review by: jimc

The Banyans 412 are an extremely comfortable pair of sunglasses. However, I would not recommend them to anyone because they are not durable. I have had my Maui Jim sunglasses for approximately 3 years and on two occasions the ear piece has broken. The plastic is not durable in cold temperatures and it becomes very brittle and will break. I had to pay for the repair the first time and now that the glasses have broken a second time, I plan to convert to a more durable brand of sunglasses!

Disappointed
Review by: Dugger

This is my third pair of Maui Jim's. I was very satisfied with MJ's lightweight glasses until I purchased the Banyans. As mentioned by several other reviewers, the wide nosebridge extends into your field of vision. I'm not picky, never have been, and wore these glasses for a month to see if I could get used to it. I couldn't, so I returned them.

I do a lot of mountain bike riding. While leaning forward and looking out the top of the lense the nosebridge is a serious annoyance. If you then look to your left or right, the nosebridge blocks a good part of your trailing eye's field of vision. Bummer. I traded these for a pair of Kanaha's (Yes, I'm still loyal) and love them.

Good glasses
Review by: sdk1

I ordered these with a single vision prescription and HT lenses. I read the negative review comments concerning the visible nose pieces and decided to get them anyway. If I hadn't read the reviews I probably would have noticed the nose pieces and been disappointed. Since I was expecting it I just wore them for a few days and now I don't notice them. I am however having a hard time getting used to the HT lenses. They are much brighter than I thought they would be. Definitely for low light conditions. I have had a pair of Typhoon's with bronze len's for the last 4 years that I love so I thought I would try a different lens color. The bronze lenses are a little dark sometimes. Not sure if I made the right choice but my other choice would have been the neutral grey which I think would have been darker.

Great glasses but..............
Review by: mapurinton

I love the wieght and feel of the glasses on my face but like previous comments state the bridge that connects the lenses to the frames obstruct my view. I tried to block it out on an hour and a half drive this morning but my eye kept trying to focus on the screw on the right lens. I like the lenses and frames but the bridge always being in my sightline is very annoying. This is my first pair of Maui Jims and can tell that when done correctly these would be a superb pair. I don't understand why Maui Jim would allow these to go to market considering the annoying field of vision issue. I don't like to leave negative comments but the new Banyans are not made in the standards Maui Jim can achieve. It surprises me the company has not issued a recall on this style and tweaked the way the lenses attach to the frames.
