My wife purchased these for Christmas last year 2011 right before we went to Mexico. They are the best sunglasses I have ever worn or tried on in my life.
I am extremely pleased with the durability of the glasses.
I have always purchased Ray-Ban’s in the past and they always break in the first year. (I am really tough on my sunglasses).
But my Black Coral’s have not bent on single bit.
I will always buy Maui Jim’s from now on.

7 Years ago I tried on a pair of Maui Jims while visiting St. Thomas, USVI. My eyes said, "Thank you." Last week I finally took the plunge and purchased a pair of Black Coral shades in my prescription. Insurance helped, but they were still not "cheap sunglasses". As soon as I opened the door to leave Lenscrafters the world changed. Color and clarity were everywhere. Even in low light conditons the clarity is apparent. I don't want to take them off. Thank you, Maui Jim, for getting it right.

i have a wide head and most of the fashion glasses
are made small but this pair rocks..
sts glass three point fit and the lenses are superb..
i bought both colors....

Wife bought these for me this November as a birthday gift in when we were in Maui. They look great and the lenses are clear and durable. No scratches yet and I leave them laying around all the time, not in the case. The only complaint I have is the weight. They don't feel heavy when you pick them up, but once on your face for a while, they start feeling real heavy on the bridge of the nose. Wearing these all day will have you constantly readjusting them towards the end of the day. As for frame durability, they are a month and a half old and I have quite a few scratches around the lenses, but I attribute that to my carelessness. I did however pick them up today and found they were bent. When I tried to bend them back to the correct shape the left lens popped out and the shape will not go back to original. I will go to a local Lenscrafter to see if they can fix it. If not, it will cost about 100 bucks to send them back for repair (including shipping) which I assume is a new frame according to their repair policy. I like these and will pay the money to have them fixed and hopefully I'll learn to be more careful with them, they just seemed more sturdy than they are.

I purchased the Black Coral (bronze) with quite a bit of pessimism as to whether these would work for me unlike some of the more recent Maui Jim styles that I have tried. Luckily, upon receiving and placing them over my eyes, I was pleasantly surprised. The build quality is excellent, the weight is surprisingly low for a monel glass lens model and of course the optics are second to none. They offer a simple yet attractive and versatile style, but what I was most impressed with by the Black Coral was their very good solar coverage and facial comfort while maintaining an almost ideal fit. Plainly put, these are the best Maui Jim sunglasses I have ever worn and represent the pinnacle of their 2011 collection.
