Neutral Grey: Perfect for especially bright, direct sunlight. Offers rich color and contrast along with the highest available light production, unlike ordinary grey lenses that flatten light evenly across the spectrum.
HCL® Bronze: For everyday variable conditions, from full sun to overcast. Provides excellent contrast. Great if you love a warm, subtle bronze tint.
Maui HT™: High-Transmission for times when most lenses would be too dark — sharper contrast and more vibrant color for early morning, late afternoon and foggy days. Heightens contrast and depth of field so that low light is perceived with new vibrancy.
PolarizedPlus®2: In every pair of Maui Jims you’ll find our patented, color-infused lens technology that wipes out 99.9% of glare, 100% of harmful UV and boosts color via specially designed lens treatments. So your view is clearer, with crisper contrast and amazing brilliance.
Maui Evolution®: When you need an everyday lens for your active life, look to the lens that fuses the best properties of SuperThin glass and polycarbonate. Extremely lightweight. Scratch- and impact-resistant. Patented lens treatments bring the world’s true colors to life. With the high-performance optics you need to keep up with your outdoor sports.
CLEARSHELL® Scratch Coating: A proprietary, silicone-based hard coat that protects your lenses. Glass is naturally scratch-resistant but Maui Evolution and polycarbonate lenses perform better longer with the added durability of our optically correct Clearshell. Applied to front and back of the lens.

OMG!! The Best Ever!!
Review by: PrettyEyes -
I have had Maui Jim sunglasses for the last five years. I had a model very similar to the Canoes and recently lost them.
I purchased the Canoes in the bronze lense and love them. Due to a medical condition and the meds necessary to manage it, the sun is certainly no friend to my eyes. The Canoes protect my eyes making sure that at the end of the day my eyes are not stinging or red/swollen. I love these sunglasses and recommend them to everyone I can.
I have never had better sunglasses, ever!(Posted on 11/28/12)

Lenses "plasticy-feel", blue hues.
Review by: Luke -
I'm a fan of maui jim. My partner and I both have a pair.
I had a pair of lagoons for the past 2 years and now purchased a pair of these...
The lenses aren't the same material as the lagoons. The lagoons have what seems to be real glass (heavier and harder feeling).
The hues are also different, although both pairs are natural grey - The lagoons have a warmer look and are more "colour-true", whereas the canoes have a blueish tinge.
Whilst the Canoes fit me better, the lagoons have a better lens.
Pity, I was looking forward to my new Mauis - the would be perfect if they had the same lenses as the lagoons!(Posted on 11/28/12)

Paint bubbles and chips
Review by: USMCMike -
This is my fourth pair of Maui Jims (lost two and broke one). I have always raved about Maui Jim sunglasses to my friends and have convinced several of them to spend the money and give them a shot. Up until this pair I have not had any issues. I purchased the Canoes in October of 2010 and loved them at first. They were never really exposed to salt water or any other corrosive substances, however, after about 6 months I noticed that the insides of the frames started feeling bumpy on the sides of my head (just above the ear). I didn't think too much about it at first, but over the course of the next couple of months the paint began to bubble up and chip badly. Now the sunglasses are so uncomfortable to wear that they just sit on my counter top at home. I am going to try to have them replaced, but until this issue is fixed I do not plan on buying any sunglasses with paint on the frames. Recommend getting a pair of shades with solid plastic.

Best sunglasses in the world.
Review by: FrankieT -
Durability Fit Value Style I bought my first pair of Maui Jim sunglasses in 1992 (I still have them and they are still fantastic). I bought my second pair because I wanted something that wrapped around more to cut some of the wind that goes in my eyes while riding my bike. Canoe's were the perfect solution. Professionally fitted at the store I am thrilled with my sunglasses. Maui Jim continues to be the absolute best sunglasses you can buy.

One of my favorites!
Review by: simplecurlicue -
These are excellent glasses! Fit and quality are awesome! Being Asian, it's hard to find glasses that fit well given our high cheek bones. These glasses are an exception. After a proper fitting, they fit like a glove. Unfortunately, I lost mine but well worth the purchase. I am going back to the store to buy another pair!

Beware of arm hinges...
Review by: mparish68 -
Durability Fit Value Style I am on my second pair Canoes and have enjoyed them for the most part. I need to warn you though that when worn on top of your head, the hinges on the arms will snag your hair, pull your hair out or cut your hair. I have long hair and on both sides of my head I have a patch of 3-4 inch hair. And no, I do not straighten my hair...I have narrowed it down to the sunglasses.
