I've owned these glasses for 2 years now, and just ordered replacement lenses because I love them so much (I've dropped them a few times!). I'm an Air Traffic Controller and look west out of the control tower, so every evening shift I'm staring into the setting sun. Before I purchased these I was getting headaches after work. I discovered that I was squinting constantly, even while wearing my previous pair of 'high-end' glasses! So I bought Maui Jims, and have not had one bit of eye strain for 2 years. Now all my buddies are rushing out to buy MJs, too. These make the world "brighter" believe it or not, but remove all the UV and glare around you! Everything is sharp and crystal clear. I will only buy MJ's from now on!

My son was in St louis for a visit from Afganistan and we decided to visit him. I forgot my sunglasses when we left home. He suggested Maui Jim. Wasn't sure I wanted to spend that much on shades. I tried them on and discovered what he told about these being the best out there. So, I bought them, very satisfied. Best I have ever ownded.

I've been a loyal Serengeti fan since 1987 (about 20 pairs). Not any more! I am simply amazed by the clarity of my Maui Jim Ho'okipa sunglasses. As a private pilot, I am always scanning the horizon. My new Maui Jims provide contrast and enhance my vision to new levels. And the polarization reduces the strain on my eyes. One more thing, I love the looks. Without hesitation, my wife said they are the coolest sunglasses I've ever owned.

My only concern was durability. I'm accustomed to glass sunglasses and metal frames. So far I haven't been disappointed. I've had my Ho'okipas for three months and they still look brand new.

Keep up the good work and I'll be back for more!

My wife bought a pair for me while in Hawaii last year, the Ho'okipa style. You talk about GREAT sunglasses! Took them to my optometrist and they put my prescription on them and love them even more. Dont go anywhere without them. They really help when driving and espically when driving into the sun, no glare whatsoever! Will definitely replace them when I need to. If someone buys a pair of Ray Ban or any "other" brand your just throwing away your money.

I got these for our 30th anniversary trip to the Big Island. I absolutely loved them. I had them for 1 year and for our 31st anniversary we went to Myrtle Beach and a sudden wave swept them off my head and they were gone.

My second pair of Maui Jim's. Also have a pair of 409's. I bought these
pair mistaking them for the 409's. As it turns out not the best fit for my face. Still very comfortable all the same. The 409's are excellent by the way, so much so that I forget they're on even hours of wearing. The point is the lenses on ALL MJ's are OUTSTANDING. At the store I tried on all the big brands and was just wowed at these lenses. I'd rate the coverage over the 409's simply because the 407's are larger. It's the way they relax your eyes that leaves a real impression. There has been concern over cracking around the screws and that's something I've read about online. MJ's are supposed to have great CS so I'll test that if it arises.
Wish that MJ would use some bullet proof frames instead. Just a thought as there hasn't been any real reason to concern myself at this point. At the moment these glasses are used for driving as I don't notice the fit issue on the road. I treat them as well as I treat my eyes (holding the lense to clean them and not frame) in the hope they last. I'll definately be
adding a glass lense and another poly lense frame to my collection of MJ's. The thing that suprised me too was how the protected in the Nuetral grey was there in daylight but I can walk into a building as still see out. Great reputation of MJ's lenses is solid gold but the frames might have a question mark. Not very confident in a drop test but I don't think they're made for that. Excellent value for money compared to trash fashion brands too. All up 4.5 stars.

Received as a corporate gift in Maui, the Maui Jim associate was very helpful picking out the style (since I gravitate to the same style). I have been wearing them all week, during long periods of wear, they don't hurt like my other expensive sunglasses. Love the coating and how you view the world. My first pair, certainly not my last.

Just purchased a pair of the Ho'okipa407 for my wife birthday, the first time she put them on, she was impressed right away, even though she is not a type of person who likes to wear sunglasses, but after tried them on, she fell in love with them immediately, the style looks great, the lenses clarity is a top notch..., I'm trying to get myself a pair with a different style soon.

these are the 3rd set of lenses that i have had with the same frame and guess what surprise surprise more scratches,Since I have scratched 2 pairs before i was extremely carefull with these, if they weren't on my face they were in their case. This time I was bringing them out of my locker at work and they touched the smooth side of the locker and bam new scratch. If i had alot more money than i have now I would stick with Maui Jim but it is too expensive to keep sending them in to get the lenses replaced.

These lenses are the clearest and crispist lenses i have ever owned but the anti-scratch coating is garbage.

If anyone in the company reads this please e-mail me when the anti-scratch is actually anti-scratch and I might come back. It saddens me that I now have to find a different set of sunglasses
