Overview

Inspired By:

Sandy Beach, Oahu. This bodysurfing and bodyboarding mecca is basted in year-round swells from the easterly tradewinds for rollicking rides to a pitching shorebreak.

Perfect for: Playing sports or watching surfers from the shore — lens treatments and frames are saltwater safe

Design: A mid-sized, rimless wrap for unobstructed views, with generous coverage for protection against wind, debris and the sun’s harmful UV rays

Shape: Soft, rectangular frame complements a range of facial shapes

Care: Maui Jim case and cleaning cloth included

Lenses

Neutral Grey: Perfect for especially bright, direct sunlight. Offers rich color and contrast along with the highest available light production, unlike ordinary grey lenses that flatten light evenly across the spectrum.

HCL® Bronze: For everyday variable conditions, from full sun to overcast. Provides excellent contrast. Great if you love a warm, subtle bronze tint.

Maui HT™: High-Transmission for times when most lenses would be too dark — sharper contrast and more vibrant color for early morning, late afternoon and foggy days. Heightens contrast and depth of field so that low light is perceived with new vibrancy.

PolarizedPlus®2: In every pair of Maui Jims you’ll find our patented, color-infused lens technology that wipes out 99.9% of glare, 100% of harmful UV and boosts color via specially designed lens treatments. So your view is clearer, with crisper contrast and amazing brilliance.

Polycarbonate: When durability and protection against shattering are the priority, choose a lens that stands up to your most intense activities. Scratch- and impact-resistant. Injection molded for crisp optics. With patented lens treatments that infuse your view with vivid color. Your lightest choice for long days in the sun.

CLEARSHELL® Scratch Coating: A proprietary, silicone-based hard coat that protects your lenses. Glass is naturally scratch-resistant but Maui Evolution and polycarbonate lenses perform better longer with the added durability of our optically correct Clearshell. Applied to front and back of the lens.

Frame/Fit

Love these for reading on the beach or at pool
Review by: Charliedog

I have been wearing Maui Jim sunglasses for years. I am so happy to now be able to wear Maui Jim with readers so that I don't have to give up the great quality of the Maui Jim lense. They are great for beach reading and driving. I wish there were more Maui Jim styles with readers!

Awesome
Review by: USNavyGuy

Love these sunglasses...They have been my favorite pair over the years. My past Gargoyles and Bolles haven't compared. The polarization is amazing and the flexibility of the frames is unbelievable! Cant go wrong with this pair, highly recommend for relaxing at the beach to going hard at your favorite sport!!!

Stretches Out
Review by: Bdgetiger

I was very disappointed in these glasses as far as holding their shape. I play golf and fish quite regularly and will wind up putting my glasses on my head or over the bill of my cap. I have only had these glasses just under a year and they have stretched out so bad from this habit that I can't even keep them on my head or on my cap if I bend over or jerk my head quickly. The Oakleys that I had over the years never lost their shape from this habit and I had three pair of them over 10 years (so roughly 3 years per pair).

As far as the glasses themselves, I loved the fact they were so lightweight. The vision out of them was descent but nothing out of the ordinary. I can honestly say that I do not see myself buying another pair of Maui's and will not be suggesting them to anyone if they ask for my opinion.

I own Spy, Oakley, Dragon, Julbo, and a really old pair of Revos. My company gave me pick of a few different modeld of MJ's back in 2008 during a trip to Maui. I selected the Ho'okipa in turtoise with bronze lenses and I rarely ever use any other shade I own. I see better with these glasses over any other brand. I've purchased upgraded polarized lenses in the other brands trying to chase the performance I've gotten out of my 5 year old MJ Sports. Durability wise, these feel pretty fragile but stand up to abuse. I am anything but easy on my gear. I ride MX and street bikes, I shoot, fish, hike, motor boat (you know what I'm talking about) and I am constantly building, framing and finishing projects. I also hit the beach hard and hit the cocktails harder. These shades stand up to everything. I don't wear them on the slopes but do wear them when theres snow on the ground and they're terrific. I don't recomend practicing this but I dont even keep these in a case. Theyre usually on top of my head or thrown about if not on my face. I stopped babying these about 6 months after I got them. I usually use my t-shirt to wipe them down. The lenses have 0 scratches and are just as brilliant as the first day I got these. I have turened my wife onto MJ's and she's equally a believer. Getting another pair this week.

Maui Jim rocks!
Review by: usmcsld3529

I have owned several pair of Mj's now, had to replace them mainly because of loss, and the need for RX frames. I have and will continue to recommend MJ's to everyone I know. They are comfortable, wear very well and your frame warranty is outstanding. Maui Jim is my only choice for sunglasses hands down.

Greatest fishing glasses on the market

In 2005 i was guiding up in North of Iceland, a great guy from the US had a pair of Ho okipa glasses, that were much better then the Aqua fishing glasses i had on. At the end of the trip he gave me his pair of Ho okipa and i have used them ever since. I am guiding about 40-50 days per summer both for salmon and trout, so it is necessary that the glasses are light and durable, as well as cool looking. They have never failed me in spotting fish in the river both in bright and dark light. Because of careless storage, on my part, the lens of the glasses did get scratch over the winter, so last summer i bought a pair of Aqua glasses and a pair of Guideline glasses, both are not comparable to the Ho okipa glasses.
If looking for a great pair of fishing glasses or sunglasses i highly recommend Ho'okipa glasses, they are truly great!

I have two pair of Maui jim glasses. The first pair was the Banyan but I wanted a pair with a reader so I purchased the Ho'okipa with reader. I use them for everything but mainly for golf. For years I had trouble reading the score card but now it is just perfect. For people that need correction for reading these glass are really the thing. I also like how lite they are..again great for golfing. I tell all my friends about them...,clearly the best pair of sunglasses I have ever owned!

These are my second pair of Maui Jims. The first pair were smashed by my insane, now ex-girlfriend and I bought exactly the same because the originals were perfect.

I use the readers because the magnifying strips are so discreet that you just don't notice them and they work brilliantly for seeing the dials in the car or restaurant menus alike.

These replace the pair of Ray Bans that I've been using since becoming single! I wholeheartedly recommend Maui Jim, expensive but worth it.
