I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for so in 2001 I purchased my first pair of Maui Jim Kahunas in Gunmetal Gray. 12 years later I'm still wearing the same pair! I broke the hinge about 7 years ago, sent them back to MJ and they reinserted the lenses into a completely new frame and sent along an assessment of the lenses....for NOTHING (I think they charge now). It was at that point I chose never to purchase another brand of sunglasses - including for my wife who now wears the Atolls. I've since purchased a pair of Kahanas for myself and just today my wife surprised me with a pair Gloss Copper Kahunas!! I love Maui Jim!!

Got my Kahuna's, with Rx, yesterday. I'm totally sold on the quality. I will soon purchase a back-up pair, just in case. I do not want to be without these. I've used the cheap, clip-on's for years, and finally decided I would get the real thing.

Just received my 2nd pair of my Kahuna's in my Rx.
The 1st were still in excellent shape after 4 yrs but my prescription changed and I had to get a new pair. I didn't hesitate 1 minute in getting another pair of Kahuna's. My eyes are somewhat sensitive to glare and I spent a lot of time on the water. Simply stated: there is no comparision, Maui Jim is the best.

Something soothing happens to the world when these are slipped on that just defies explanation. I prefer the rose lenses which on occasion can be found in stock but the neutral grey is also very good and darkest of the three lens options (rose appears to be discontinued now) with bronze being the lightest tint and rose in the middle. I prefer the bronze lenses on the Peahi frames. Each lens color seems to have its own unique vibe, but the Kahuna really is a timeless aviator-ish style that looks good with jeans, swimsuit, or business suit. Would be nice if HT were also an option on these. Hope that MJ never stops making these frames. Here's a tip, buy more than one just in case.

I'm 36 and decided to step up from the grocery store shades and get a decent pair of sunglasses. I ended up buying the Kahuna and couldn't be happier. They aren't cheap, but well worth the price. And it may be my imagination, but my vision outdoors is greatly improved when wearing the glasses...everything is clearer, crisper. I highly recommend these shades.

The Kahuna was my first pair of Maui Jim's as well as my second, after the first pair was stolen. Fit, styling, durability, the Kahuna has it all. I thought that I wanted the black frames but was glad I settled on the Gloss Copper. The glass lenses are durable but I have proven that they do break when dropped on the street. I decided to buy a back up pair because I refuse to be without the Maui Jim quality for even one day now. You simply can't go wrong buying a pair of Kahunas.

I am an eye care professional for an optometrist in OH. The Kahuna is my first Maui Jim purchase. I have no complaints with this sunglass. This sunglass is good for an everyday wear especially the nuetral grey lens.

Out of most of the sunglasses that I have seen and tried on by Maui Jim, the kahuna seems to be the the one that offers the most optical clarity with it's superthin glass lens material.

Frame durability is extremely high with the stainless steel material.

The fitting of this frame is great. It seems to fit every gentleman no matter what size head. It has a high frame wrap which is good for protection and/or if you own a bike.

Great gift for a guy because the style is trendy but neutral so it's okay for business or casual type person. The performance in optics is I think the highlight of this sunglass.

I own two pair of these sunglasses and they are by far the best. I`ve had them for ten years and have sent them in for repairs twice. Damaged by careless handling on my part. Each time the service was great and they were returned to me in perfect condition. You have to put a pair of these on to see what your missing. Thanks much.
