PolarizedPlus®2: In every pair of Maui Jims you’ll find our patented, color-infused lens technology that wipes out 99.9% of glare, 100% of harmful UV and boosts color via specially designed lens treatments. So your view is clearer, with crisper contrast and amazing brilliance.
Polycarbonate: When durability and protection against shattering are the priority, choose a lens that stands up to your most intense activities. Scratch- and impact-resistant. Injection molded for crisp optics. With patented lens treatments that infuse your view with vivid color. Your lightest choice for long days in the sun.

Review by: tonysyam -
Hey just wanted to say
I bought these glasses after always having Oakleys 10 years or so but Im so glad that i did swap these glass are awesome, Comfortable, light (to the point that you forget you got them on) great in bright light and beautifully designed
Nearly a year on and they are still amazing love wearing them and always get asked where i got them I always point everyone to the name my glasses always out proform any other glasses my friends have
The clarity that comes with these glasses allows you to see real colour not just what the lens colour dictates
Never leave home without them
Well done maui Jims will never go anywhere else for another pair thanks again guys(Posted on 11/28/12)

Brow bar different in RX glasses
Review by: Susie -
I love the weight of these glasses and the optics are unmatched. This is my 6th pair of Maui Jims and the only pair I have had any complaint on. The problem lies in the brow bar that has to be used with prescription lenses. It is a more high profile piece and interferes with field of vision, especially when looking up or peripherally. These glasses are very comfortable, but this brow bar may be a deal breaker.

Terrific product & customer support
Review by: KJ24 -
I have been a loyal Maui Jim customer for nearly 20 years, owning many different styles and very happy with them all. This style fits perfectly and is very light. It is my "go to" pair.
I recently damaged the lenses on this pair and for the first time, worked with the repair department. The high standards of the company were reflected in the repair department. For a reasonable fee the lenses were replaced and returned to me very quickly with an unexpected bonus of a new case! Kudos to Mary, who was exceptionally pleasant and professional!
I will be a customer for life and enthusiastically recommend Maui Jim.(Posted on 11/28/12)

AWESOME!!!
Review by: DesertDog -
I've worn these glasses for the past two years in very harsh conditions abroad (Afghanistan, Iraq, Philippines, Dubai, Maldives and others... even Hawaii) with extreme heat, wind, dust and sand storms. They are fantastic!! Very lightweight and they hold up exceptionally well. I never expected the lens' to hold up in these environments as long as they have, but they are still almost like new. I definitely put them to the test. Best pair of sunglasses I have ever owned, bar none. Strongly recommend.

So lightweight!
Review by: flgirl -
These are my second pair of Maui Jim's and I absolutely LOVE them! I barely know they are there, and can play softball, volleyball or any other sport with the light weight of the sunglasses. These are a must buy!

Best Glasses on the Market
Review by: SandHopper -
These shades are the best I have ever owned. I wear them throughout the middle east, in the desert, on missions or normal drives and I will not be caught without them. They are durable enough to keep up and they protect against anything. They hold up really well against the brightest conditions on the worst days. I would recommend these for any out door activity.

8 Years of Visual Bliss: You'll Never Need Another Pair of Shades
Review by: NighTalon -
Durability Fit Value Style I bought this pair (MJ Sport Kahana 409-10) when I was 17, 7 years ago, in 2004.
Repairs:
* I have replaced the lenses once (4 years of scratches)
* I snapped the bridge when they were in a pair of tight jeans
* I snapped it again in my luggage
* I broke the side-arm once while mountain-biking
Customer service and return times are exemplary. Repair fees have always been reasonable.
Use Cases:
* Biking: they don't move around, and good visibility and refocusing. I have hit 2 joggers, and bailed once to avoid hitting another. This pair never came off my head, probably because they're so lightweight. Low-light is more difficult, even with the bronze tint.
* Skiing: this is harder to do, since these glasses don't block all the wind if you're skiing fast or in colder weather (i.e. at Whistler or Copper Mtn), but visibility for moguls, rocks, grooming tracks, etc. is superlative.
* Running: I have run two half-marathons in these shades. Sometimes I've joked about running a marathon in aviator-style glasses. I once bought a pair of Natives when I left my MJs at home on a trip to Long Island, and despite ventilation holes and interchangeable lenses, I still prefer my MJs due to their lighter weight and flexiblity. However, they don't fit all that well with over-the-ear-round-the-neck headphones. For me, that's the price I pay for audio. Earbuds are a safety hazard, since I cannot hear traffic with them.
* Driving: excellent. I have little else to say about this. They cut glare wonderfully. Just be prepared to see polarization artifacts in the sky, road, and tinted car windows of other vehicles.
* Outdoor reading: excellent. Just keep in mind that laptop screens have polarizers, so you won't want to use polarized lenses with them. This is true for certain smartphone LCD panels as well.
* Fashion: not so much. I think they look great, and when I'm at the beach and pass these around, all of my friends love the optics. But kicking around town (NYC) I've had friends tell me that I look like I should "go bike 50 miiles or run a marathon." I got a pair of wayfarer-style fashion sunglasses, and they are not durable at all, and they fall off my face. But, I have to look cool in Williamsburg, BK sometimes. ;-)
That said, I look for excuses to wear my MJs.
Advice: Do buy a pair. These are high-performance, great value, and have great customer support. Mine have traveled to at least 4 continents. (Though unlike some other reviewers, I've never been deployed!) Do try to treat them with respect, though. The neoprene case provided is quite reliable and not too bulky, although I trust my hard Native case a bit more. A microfiber back is a must if you carry these around in your pocket...just make sure they don't get crushed. I'm taller, so sometimes I hit them on the tops of car or building doors, but they do take a beating.(Posted on 11/28/12)

Excellant product
Review by: Swede -
Durability Fit Value Style Great product. Was following a gravel truck down the highway that lost some of its load out the back and sprayed my car. One rock came through the drivers side window that I had partly opened and hit me right in the middle of my left eye. Luckily I had my Maui Jim's on that saved me great pain and possibably my eye. Would recommend your product to anyone. Thanks.
