Lenses

Neutral Grey: Perfect for especially bright, direct sunlight. Offers rich color and contrast along with the highest available light production, unlike ordinary grey lenses that flatten light evenly across the spectrum.

HCL® Bronze: For everyday variable conditions, from full sun to overcast. Provides excellent contrast. Great if you love a warm, subtle bronze tint

Maui Rose®: For everyday variable conditions, from full sun to overcast. The highest contrast available – excellent for fast moving sports. Provides a subtle rose tint.

PolarizedPlus®2: In every pair of Maui Jims you’ll find our patented, color-infused lens technology that wipes out 99.9% of glare, 100% of harmful UV and boosts color via specially designed lens treatments. So your view is clearer, with crisper contrast and amazing brilliance.

Polycarbonate: When durability and protection against shattering are the priority, choose a lens that stands up to your most intense activities. Scratch- and impact-resistant. Injection molded for crisp optics. With patented lens treatments that infuse your view with vivid color. Your lightest choice for long days in the sun.

CLEARSHELL® Scratch Coating: A proprietary, silicone-based hard coat that protects your lenses. Glass is naturally scratch-resistant but Maui Evolution and polycarbonate lenses perform better longer with the added durability of our optically correct Clearshell. Amazing!
Review by: Atilla

I work at an optical shop, and after all the raving by the owners, I finally got a pair with my RX in them. I totally understand what all the raving is about! The quality is amazing, and the RX is the clearest of any pair of prescription eye wear I own. In 5 years of working at the store, I am constantly blown away by the customer service Maui gives its customers. It is truly an amazing company. Also I recently went to Maui on vacation and wore my glasses swimming and on the beach for hours every day. I was afraid with all the salt and sand they would end up scratched....not a mark on them. They provided unparalleled glare and sun protection. If you buy a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses, you will not be disappointed. Only one thing to point out about this style, you have to use both hands to put them on and take them off because of the temple construction. But this same feature makes them fit wonderfully and almost weightless while wearing. Also a personal observation is the grey lenses give the best sun protection, but the bronze lenses make everything beautiful.

Love these glasses
Review by: G2K2

I love my Maui Jim sunglasses. I have owned others but none I have liked as well as these. Customer service has been great. I had a problem with one pair and they took care of it without any problems at all. Great for most outdoor activities.

Love my Maui Jim
Review by: sefa702

I owned this pair for a little over a year and I love this pair. I also own 3 pairs of Oakleys and love those but this pair is my favorite. It is light weight, comfortable, clear and sporty. Furthermore, customer service is top notch. Nicest people work there and they take care of you like no other. I am looking at their Breakwall sunglasses for use with my golf game. I just can't see myself buying any other brand than Maui jim in the future.

They are the best!

Wow!!
Review by: DeltaKilo

The sunglasses are super light. Always fit perfect and never need adjustments. No screws to repeatedly have to tighten. They aren't as compact as other pairs but worth it.

Love/Hate
Review by: Sherlock

Love the optics and weight. Glasses are exceptionally comfortable to wear for long periods, and superior optics keep eye strain to a minimum. The engineering design leaves something to be desired. I've owned this pair for just over two years, using minimally (I use two other pairs of MJ for general use), and have needed repair/replacement twice due to broken lenses from stress fracture(s). I take exceptional care of these glasses and have been disappointed they have not held up better.

Love them, but cracked at the nose bridge
Review by: Matt

I love these glasses, and have had them for ~7 years, however over the past weekend I noticed they had cracked on both lenses where the nose bridges attaches. After reading so many other reviews with the same issue I am wary of buying them again, I just came online to replace these...

BEST PAIR EVER
Review by: lazybuoy

I have the Kapalua's in the grey lenses and I use them for commercial fishing everyday. I'm out in the water 8 hours daily, 7 days a week for the whole summer and fall. The lenses give super clear vision and the best protection compared to anything I've ever used. I bought maui jim's based on what I read on the net and I gotta say, everything they say is true. Customer service is TOP NOTCH. (Had a scratch on mine due to a drop and they replaced my lenses free of charge.) My best purchase ever! I recommended maui's to all my friends and family and I will not buy anything else.

The Best, but,...
Review by: Gessy

I love my Kapalua Maui Jim its Gunmetal/Neutral Grey,..
When I got this glasses from my wife as my birthday gifts, I fall in love with it, instantly,..from the way it look, the way it fits your face, comfy and quality of the lenses are amazing. But, the quality of the bridge and scratch-resistant coating is Very-Very Poor. I have to sent it to get repair, great service, get it back, happy and it broken again. I'm using it regularly and in normal wear condition. now I don't have my warranty. The cost to fix it plus all scratch on lenses and S&H can cover 50% to get a new one. Yeah, I decided to get a new one may be different style. I still love the my Kapalua 502, nothing that i can do.

They're called Pilot for a reason
Review by: FrankZ

I ve NEVER been able to have my progressive prescription made into a decent pair of sunglasses& until now! Recently I "tried" to have a pair of Ray Ban "Generals" done, but the lab totally messed them up...TWICE, and they had the gall to argue with me, saying the prescription was perfect...I just wasn t wearing them correctly. After a refund, I took a chance with Maui Jim.
My first pair were the Kapalua H502-02, but they were just too malleable for wear with aviation headsets and I think the lenses were just a tad bit short for my prescription. Maui Jim replaced them with the Pilot at no cost& and they are GREAT!
When driving or flying I can now see variations in the clouds that before seemed to blend into a one dimensional blur. My depth perception seems to be enhanced with these glasses. There s no way sunlight will hit my eyes with these puppies on.
I must say, these are the most expensive sunglasses I ve ever had. They re cost just as much as a good headset but you get what you pay for& and I ve NEVER been able to get what I wanted, until now!

Good glasses... but
Review by: nyopa

Seems I am not the only one who has cracked the lens where the nose plate is. Really this is unacceptable, I have only owned 5 pairs of sunglasses in my life (45) and the other 4 have all been destroyed by disasterous accidents. Revo x 1, Rayban x 2 and bolle x 1 and now Maui Jim with the MJ easily having the best lens. thats why I bought them. Anyway the simple problem is that they are poorley designed and whilst I look after my glasses with the utmost care the MJ are now cracked on both lenses. No other mark on them anywhere. I am dissapointed that I will only get a couple of years out of them as I am used to getting at least triple that.
Also if you need them for use under a helmet, try before you buy as they don't fit at all well for me.
Finishing on a positive, the lenses are excellent and if I can find a more robust pair of MJ I will seriously consider them.... never again for the flimsy fittings.
