Decent at best

I would agree w/the review which stated that these glasses seem to have quite a bit of reflection. But it's more than that...there seems to be some distortion. When I first put them on it takes a few minutes for my eyes to adjust. This is not just the typical adjusting to the tint of the newly donned glasses. The ear piece seems to be uncomfortable also. I actually used a pair of pliers to bend them. They seemed excessively long and the glasses did not stay in position well prior to my modification. This was my first pair of MJ's and I'm not sure about buying another. I recently broke them and am getting ready to send them in for repair. I guess that will factor into my decision.

Excellent and lightweight

Best sunglasses ever. I have never bought another brand since I tried my first pair of Maui Jims 5 years ago. The glare reduction is superb for driving. They are so lightweight sometimes I even forget I wear them. The wrap around shape offers very good protection from the sun: for example I am very sensitive to light and can't drive with flat sunglasses; I like Maui Jim because they are among the few brands that fit prescription lenses in curved sunglasses - they do this in their own lab so you're sure you get top-notch lenses.

Fell apart

I owned this pair for five days before they fell apart. The attachment of the nose piece to the lens popped off while I was putting them on. I had only used them once for driving and reading outside.

Great optics, light weight...but fragile.

Durability Fit Value Style 4th pair of MJs over the past couple of years. Love the optics and design/style. The Lahaina's are light and comfortable, and have a hinge which make for easier carry and storage. After about a year and half of great wear, a hug snapped a screw at the bridge where they had started to get loose. My optical shop them back and MJ repaired the frame. They would never tighten properly and my optical shop mangled the nut trying. A couple of months later, the lens cracked at the bridge. Sent them back, but now out of warranty.
Bottom line, nice glasses, but very fragile. Wish they had a wire support across the the top like my wife's 350-02.(Posted on 11/28/12)
