Proprietary MauiGradient Lenses: MauiGradient features a darker coating at the top that gradually gets lighter moving down the lens. So an appropriate amount of light is allowed to filter through certain areas, while less in places where protection is paramount. This lens offers all the color boosting benefits of our PolarizedPlus2 technology, while eradicating 99% of glare and blocking 100% of harmful UV rays.
Neutral Grey: Perfect for especially bright, direct sunlight. Offers rich color and contrast along with the highest available light production, unlike ordinary grey lenses that flatten light evenly across the spectrum.
HCL® Bronze: For everyday variable conditions, from full sun to overcast. Provides excellent contrast. Great if you love a warm, subtle bronze tint.
Maui HT™: High-Transmission for times when most lenses would be too dark — sharper contrast and more vibrant color for early morning, late afternoon and foggy days. Heightens contrast and depth of field so that low light is perceived with new vibrancy.
PolarizedPlus®2: In every pair of Maui Jims you’ll find our patented, color-infused lens technology that wipes out 99.9% of glare, 100% of harmful UV and boosts color via specially designed lens treatments. So your view is clearer, with crisper contrast and amazing brilliance.
Maui Evolution®: When you need an everyday lens for your active life, look to the lens that fuses the best properties of SuperThin glass and polycarbonate. Extremely lightweight. Scratch- and impact-resistant. Patented lens treatments bring the world’s true colors to life. With the high-performance optics you need to keep up with your outdoor sports.
CLEARSHELL® Scratch Coating: A proprietary, silicone-based hard coat that protects your lenses. Glass is naturally scratch-resistant but Maui Evolution and polycarbonate lenses perform better longer with the added durability of our optically correct Clearshell. Applied to front and back of the lens.

These are worth a look, don't let the website get in your way
Review by: zowie -
Fit Durability Style Value Background: My eyes are sensitive to light and I purchased a pair of M-J Kahunas with a neutral gray lens -- a good choice for extremely bright conditions. However, they are overkill for cloudy-bright or partly cloudy days, and for early morning and twilight.
At these times, I was wearing sunglasses with brown Crizal lenses. Brown enhances contrast by increasing transmission in the yellow to red spectra. This is great for seeing movement - hence, its popularity in driving glasses. But in relatively bright sun, brown bothered my eyes and I didn't like the color distortion.
The purchase: I was intrigued by the HT lens, but the M-J site does not display how it performs under a variety of conditions, and the company won't release data about the transmission spectrum. A friend allowed me to borrow his M-J sunglasses with HT lenses, and I was able to give them an extensive trial. Based on this experience, I ordered prescription WikiWiki's with a gold frame and an HT lens.
The Maui Jim website implies that this combination isn't available. It also says that Wiki frames are best for people with small to medium heads. My head is medium to large, but my optical store had a pair of Wikis and they fit me just fine. I hope the Wiki frames will last, because this is a very expensive pair of sunglasses.
Capsule review: Gold Wiki Wiki sunglasses with prescription HT lenses have several attractive features. The frames are so light that I can barely feel them. They look good. Despite the green appearance, the lenses are almost neutral. They can be worn throughout the day, indoors as well as out. (The latter is great for going in and out of stores, and much preferred to switching between sunglasses and regular glasses.)
Bottom line: The Maui Jim website doesn't describe the HT lens adequately. It doesn't describe the Wiki frame accurately or list all the available lens-frame combinations. These lapses are unfortunate, because the HT lens is unique and worth considering, depending on your needs and preferences.(Posted on 1/20/13)

Maui Jim Wiki Wiki Review
Review by: MoRazak -
I ordered/received the silver and grey MJ WW for my birthday a few days ago. I have been wearing them for some time now and they are amazing. The vision is impeccable and they feel comfortable on the face. For a metal frame, they are incredibly lightweight (titanium). My first concern when I went outside on a bright day was that they were going to be too light, but the vision is beyond clear. The gradient lens provides a good mix of crystal clear vision and just the right amount of light being blocked. The result is a clear, flawless picture dimmed to just the right light. I'm very happy with this purchase and will get much use out of these!

Looks great on small glasses
Review by: Sazzette -
I recently got an eye exam and my doctor emphazised that I should wear proper polarized sunglass with maximum protection. I've been shopping for nice aviators but was having trouble because of my small face. I finally narrowed it down to Maui Jim's Baby Beach and Wiki Wiki. I realize the squarish aviators suit me best and loved the black/green lens tint. Best purchase I've made in a long time. Plan on wearing them for my trips overseas.

Wow. Very Clear. Very Light. Very Nice.
Review by: SiestaKey1 -
This is my first pair of Maui Jim lenses (after owning 8 pairs of Oakley sunglasses). I saw these worn in a movie and they looked awesome so I thought I'd try them out. They are SUPER light. Other than the nose pads, you really don't feel like they're on at all. But even though they are light, I don't feel like they would ever fall off. The fit is incredible. Much more comfortable than my Oakleys. The style is awesome too. Stylish enough for wearing with a suit, but they still retain a fun look for hanging by the pool.
The gradient is perfect and the polarization is great. I got the gold pair and the colors are nice and warm. I think it actually enhances my vision when wearing them. Things are just sharper. I've always purchased Oakleys because of the lens clarity and these are right up there with them. My only complaint is that the lenses seem to attract a little too much dust compared to my Oakleys, but it's definitely not a dealbreaker. I clean my lenses before each wearing but it seems like there is a little more dust on the Maui Jim's.
Overall though, I'm still going to give these 5 stars. I'm probably nitpicking about the dust.(Posted on 11/28/12)
