Proper Care for Your Sunglasses
As with any quality product, proper care will enhance and prolong the usefulness of your sunglasses and protect your investment. Your sunglasses are coated on the backside of the lens with an anti-reflective (A/R) coating which is essential in eliminating glare and is one of the three elements that make up our patented design.
For optimum performance, rinse your sunglasses daily in warm water. Use a mild liquid dish soap to wash each lens surface if necessary. Dry using a clean, soft, absorbent cloth. Do not use paper-based products to clean your lenses. Do not use abrasive cleaners, soaps or detergents that may leave a deposit on the lens. Do not use tissues with added lotions, lanolin, silicone or other cleaners; they will leave a film on the lens.

Elimine la suciedad y otras partículas con buenas prácticas de limpieza y mantenga las gafas de sol en su estuche cuando no las use; así prolongará considerablemente la vida útil de las lentes. Unas buenas prácticas de limpieza también ayudarán a minimizar los arañazos.
Para reducir la probabilidad de que se caigan las gafas de sol sobre superficies que pudieran arañar las lentes, considere la compra de cordones para sujetar las gafas mientras las use.
Los paños de limpieza son excelentes para mantener las gafas de sol limpias y desempañadas. Le recomendamos que lave con frecuencia los paños de limpieza para mantenerlos sin polvo, suciedad ni aceites que puedan dañar las lentes. Lávelos con agua caliente jabonosa. No utilice suavizante para tejidos porque podría dejar una película en las lentes.
Todas las gafas de sol nuevas compradas a Maui Jim incluyen un paño de limpieza y un estuche protector, pero si se le pierden o estropean, puede comprar otros de repuesto aquí.
El exceso de calor puede deteriorar las lentes o deformar las monturas de nailon. Evite dejar las gafas de sol en lugares donde puedan quedar expuestas a un calor excesivo, por ejemplo, en el salpicadero del coche.
"Hard" water contains high levels of dissolved minerals, especially calcium and magnesium. It is "softened" by the addition of sodium during the filtering process. Everyday examples include pool water and unfiltered water, such as sprinkler water. "Hard" water can be a nuisance to sunglass wearers, as it leaves white spots on lenses after drying. To avoid spotting, simply rinse any sunglass or eyeglass with filtered (tap) water, and wipe dry with a clean cloth.
Certain common household chemicals will react negatively with the frame material and the metal oxides used on the coatings of your lenses. Avoid contact with acetone (nail polish remover), caustic solutions (such as glass or other ammonia based cleaners), hair sprays containing methylene (listed on label), chlorine (from swimming pools or unfiltered water) or glue.
All Maui Jim sunglasses are saltwater safe and corrosion resistant. As with "hard" water, we suggest you rinse off any sunglass with filtered (tap) water, and wipe dry with a clean cloth.
We recommend that you visit your local sunglass retailer periodically to have them tighten the eye wire screws, attached temples and nose bridge.
